bby car seats

Post by mcgusto82 »

those of you with kids. how many car seats can you actually put in the back seat comfortably. i think it's a limit of 2. my wife needs to fit in 3 for a possible job. 2 rear facing and 1 fwd.

I also fit two. If you tried to put three it would be a tight fit and not very safe.Sorry. Hope things work out.

How many hold downs are there in the back for the child seats? That should give you some idea.

There aren't any Latch clips for the center position, only the two outside positions. I think it would be a very tough squeeze for 3, especially if any were convertible seats.

well, i see that there is 3 anchors behind the seats. thing is that all new car seats with latch connectors advice on not using 1 lacht anchor with more than 1 strap hook. i think the reason why there are 3 anchors behind the seat is so we have to option on seat position. eitehr 2 outbord sides. or one in the middle. to hook up 3, i'd have to use the inside latch anchors twice. i haven't seen anything on the owner's manual on it.i don't have 3 car seats to install. i know that physically it's posible.i want it to be safe. otherwise i might as well tie the car seat on top of the car.

There are only latch anchors at the seat base at the two outside positions. There are no latch seat base anchors for the center position.See the "Child Restraints" section of the Owner's Manual. The cargo area does have 3 tether anchor points, but if you'll notice they are NOT positioned for right, center, and left. Two are close together on the right to accomodate a variety of seats and installation requirements on the right side. (Which is generally where most child seats are installed.)

These are from a 2004 manual. The 2005 is a little less clear in that it doesn't show the pictures, but it has the same text on pages 1-38 and 1-39.(This is not to say that a seat couldn't be installed in the center positions using the lap belt; only that there are no installed Latch points for the center position)Good luck with getting it worked out.
