easy, bad ownership... crappy management. All is not lost though. I think the team is on the right track now (finally). Having a young stud QB means the future is bright for the Lions.
I wish the Bucs still had you twice a year we could use two easy games this year. The results you are getting is what happens when you hire a TV guy and put him in chagre of an organization. You coach is a 1-AA coach at best and you team has been screwed by it players quiting on them. I hate when a team goes into the tank. At least you have a good QB prospect for when the rebuilding starts. Good luck
quote:Lions,?? There is a team called the Lions in Detroit? All I know is that there is only one real sports team here in D town and that is the Red Wings. Hockey is here to stay. That's are only hope! I hope they can pick it up. Spending all that time on the road last month took it's toll on the Wings' record. They will come back strong this week though. The Avalanche are coming in for a (removed) kicking Thursday and then the Wings go out there to dispose of them again on Saturday (I'm a little confident in them). As far as the Lions go, the old man (Ford) needs to give them up. They haven't won anything since he took ownership. Once they get rid of him, I think everything else would fall into place. Go Wings!!!!

I think Ford is doing everything he can to get the Lions working. I hate when people give Ford a hard time. Look at what he's done latelyNew practice facility, new stadium, new management, new coaching. I don't think team ownership is that big of a deal in football as it is in say, baseball. If you're talking about who should give up teams, Mike Illitch should sell either the Red Wings or the Tigers. I don't think he has what it takes to run two teams.

Yeah they have all these great new facilities, but for what? They still aren't winning. Maybe he just doesn't know how to pick management, coaches or the right players to compliment the really good players that they have had. I am surprised he is going after Mooch. I wonder who talked him into it?quote: If you're talking about who should give up teams, Mike Illitch should sell either the Red Wings or the Tigers. Might be time to let someone else run things there. BTW, building a new stadium won't help you win. The Tigers and Lions both proved that.Have any of you seen that bumper sticker I think it is that says "Go Tigers and take the Lions with you!"? Pretty funny I think, but I wouldn't want to see any of our pro teams leave.

Well they may get better since they are signing Steve Mariucci. Oh wait never mind they will still suck next year since the coach doesn't play. But keep hope alive I think Mariucci will lead them in the right direction.
Won't you please be...my neighbor?Hello neighborKevin

Actually that is one of the reasons why San Fran fired him. He wanted more control of the players they gave him. They said UH UH get teh hell out of here. Bill Walsh had a vendeta against him and the 49ers ownership look at Bill Walsh as if he is a football god. It would be a good idea to give him control of plaer personal decisions. Maybe Matt can work on the salary cap issues and stuff like that. Kinda split the job in two.
