Clutch starting to go?

Post by sloth »

I think my clutch is starting to go. I'll try to baby it for another 10,000 miles or so, so I can save for a replacement.Everything feels like it's working alright until I hit about 4500-5500 rpm. There it feels like the car isn't accelerating like it was to that point. Kind of like a dead spot, but once I get close to lift it seems like it's back to normal.

There's an inherent dead spot in torque right before lift. You can see it on the dyno. I feel that plateau myself when accelerating in that range.

Good deal, maybe the clutch will last till 80,000 or more then.I didn't notice it much when I was in houston last week, but I did before and after that.I guess I'm probably noticing it more now because I'm not blowing past these rpms to hit lift. Usually shifting in that range when I'm getting on the highway.
