Low $ Fog Light Protection

Post by JohnC »

Well after paying $51+20 shipping (ouch) for a replacement fog light from e-bay, I decided I better do something. This isn't the prettiest mod, but it will be functional. Should never need to replace a broken fog light lense again. Just used some 1/4" 23 gauge wire mesh and some 1/4" thick plastic spacers. The spacers are epoxied to the strong outter edge of the lense cover, then the wire meshed is just screwed to the spacers with some ss screws. All the parts were misc scrap.

I kind of like them, as long as they don't rust.

It might be kinda tough to get the bugs out of, but it looks like it will protect the lens pretty well. Let us know how it holds up after some use.

I think your definition of Ghetto is wrong then. Thrown together from whatever is laying around would be redneck or farmer john. That's being resourceful.Ghetto would be blowing the diaper money, or the rent money to go buy something that is way to bling.Like gold plated wires for the fog protection.
