Heh, you guys know I can't go a day without having something come up. Here lately I've noticed that as I turn into the driveway to the apartment, the back end of the car scrapes the pavement. It's kind of a weird turn, the road is lower than the driveway and you have to turn right when going around a curve. To make a long story short, I've located the source of the scraping noise - it's obvious that the rear splash guards are scraping since they bottom of both sides is now all chewed up. I'm trying to find some good pics that I can use as a comparison where I can look at today vs. a year ago at the same location to see if there is any visible difference. I'm pretty sure it looks like the (removed) end is all squatted down back there. There seems to be less room between the tires and the body back there. But I don't know for sure...Maybe the road sunk... (removed)! Haven't noticed it dragging elsewhere... But with me, things aren't that simple.Everything is stock, the car's suspension has not been touched in any way. Nothing heavy back in the cargo area. What do we have back there anyway, shocks or struts? In the past, I've been able to go at least 100,000 before having a new set of struts installed. If these are shot at a wee bit shy of 52,000 miles, ugh. Not like I'm going to get it fixed anyway, I'm trying to cut back on $$$ spent for repairs/etc. and put that to the new car fund. lol!

I measured the distance between the ground and the bottom of the cladding around the wheel opening on both cars this evening... Both were right at the same height, but there is a catch: The measurements were taken when Kari had all of her stuff in the back. So the Vibe was pretty darn loaded down!I didn't measure the two after the car was unloaded, but will do that sometime soon.
