I went to my dealer to show my door windows problem, the guy of the dealer say that is a electric problem and some worker have gone for vacation,blablabla...........come 3 weeks later.Ok,i say that i want to paint the break caliper,he say if you paint you void your warranty,so wait that the warranty finish, after you can do what you want.It is true painting the caliper can void a warranty?
I can't say for sure how things are in Canada...But in the states, the ONLY way painting calipers could void your warranty is, for example, if while painting, you get paint on the rotor which dries on there and somehow gets stuck in something which in turn breaks something causing the caliper to fail. If it can be proven that the paint cause - or even contributed to - the failure of the caliper, the warranty is void on the affected parts ONLY!*Again, I don't know how things work on the north side of the border...*The example used in this post was purely fictional and hypothetical and any relation to an actual situation is coincidental.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
The funny thing,is before i phone to the mechanic guy in the same dealer, say to me that if you paint only the exterior of the caliper,it's no problem.Today i ask for fun the reception guy of the same dealer,he say the warranty void no matter where you paint. So i don't want to take chance with this guys.
I am very surprised that Parkway would say that. They have a very big performance parts department there if I am not mistaken. Refer to your owners manual and see if this is true. If not call Pontiac Customer Service and ask them.Ce pas correcte ca monsieur!

No dealer has the authority to void your warranty completely, they can only deny coverage on repairs that something after market has caused. Painting your calipers will not void any warranty, as brakes really have no warranty to begin with as they are wearable items and only considered warranty if worn out very prematurely.that being said, the guy is full of crap.

Great minds think alike but seriously paint on the calipers could only effect anything would be if you somehow got it into the caliper itself and siezed it up... which would be very very hard to do.
