Just wondering if this is true, I ask someone I know who is a sales associate for toyota and he said that GM has changed parts in the vibe i guess to cut costs, thus the 05 vibe and 05 have different parts in them....the 03 vibe and 03 matrix were identical.any truth to this?
I don't know about the 05 Vibe having fewer Toyota parts but the 05 Matrix does have fewer GM parts (the audio system/clock for example).I'm thinking the Vibe is much the same as it was in 03/04.
I doubt that seriously... I've heard some strange things come from the Toyota side, almost always never in favor of the vibe...IMHO... The bits and pieces I've seen of the 2005 Vibe still proves to my satisfaction that they still contain much more Toyota parts than GM.Honestly, the *only* thing I still see in these cars that gives me any idea that GM is involved is the Delphi sound system. I see very, very few non-Toyota components in these cars. Even down to the little details, nothing GM there either...Millster's right on, less GM parts are being used in the Matrix... But I seriously doubt much has changed in terms of ratio to GM vs. Toyota parts on the Vibe over the years. They're just using less parts all together and charging more money, if anything.

well its true that the 05 has less toyota parts for the simple fact that the 05 has less features then the 03-04 standard equipment. Therefore meaning less parts are on the 05 to begin with.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
The Vibe/Matrix, like the Prism/Corolla before it built by NUMMI, has very little in the way of GM Parts. Usually all the cars had a Delco battery, and in the car of the V/M, the radio. The Corolla did NOT share the same Radio as the Prism, so if the '05 'trix doesn't have a Delco/Delfhi radio, then I guess your sales buddy is right.
