Ugh, colonel pizzle's vizzle has a nasty rattle/vibration/etc that will not go away! Right above my head, I'm getting this constant vibration, like something is rubbing up against something nonstop. With the way this car idles so bloody rough, the rattle is even present when stopped at idle. Can't tell if it is the moonroof shade, something with the dome light, or something along those lines. But whatever it is, it certainly gets to me after a while since it's rattling the entire time I am in the car. I took the dome light down and reinstalled... But it still rattles. A year ago, the metal tabs that hold the dome light assy, in place were giving me this metallic rattle from up there, so I taped over the metal tabs and that fixed that particular problem. But the new rattle has appeared..It could very well be the moonroof shade but it still makes noise no matter where the shade is, and even when I'm pushing on it, it still makes noise. Oddly enough this thing was fine until I opened the roof for the first time in months the other day. Since then, it's been noisy - I obviously upset the delicate balance of something when I opened it...

LOL! I've done none of the above... Just born with this storm cloud right over my head. It kinda runs in the family you could say, nice folks but with some really rotten luck. Anywho, I figure I'll take a look at the rattle now that it's light and see what's up...

Apparently by opening the moon roof you have let something out of the bowels of Hell. When it teams up with the gremlins destroying your car, they will form a hideous unstoppable car wrecking machine. No Vibe will be safe! Hide the wives and children! Get the pitchforks and torches, call the Vatican. It is time for a Vibe-orcism.By the way your signature is freakin hilarious. Too bad the humor is in relation to your troubles.
It was made on Drunken NUMMI Employee Celebration Day! Seriously though I do need to find that out. 11/02 so probably it was slapped together in a hurry so they could get the heck outta there and go enjoy thanksgiving.. probably was the last one off the line. (removed) Red Lava... The end of the world is near!!! Your Vibes shall all face the wrath of this one demonic Vibe... On a serious note, I found the source of the rattle... And woah, did I ever misdiagnose the source, bigtime. It's the stupid window on the front passenger side door. Every window on this piece of crap has always been loose as heck, gotta give props to those bozo Toyota "engineers" who think it's cool to put tons of play in our stupid windows needlessly. If I reach over and push outward on the window, the rattle stops. So I don't know how the hell I'll be able to fix this... Aside from getting a "Go-Go Gadget Arm" to reach over to the passenger's side and keep pushing on the st00pid glass. Man, it's beyond annoying and I haven't the foggiest how to resolve this, short from taking a big friggin' rock and throwing it at the glass.

Well, I sorta fixed the rattle, kinda maybe a little... But that pretty much means I've had to take the window out of commission. Taped a piece of felt to the top edge of the glass and rolled the window up. Hit the lock button as to not have anyone mess with the window, rolling it down may cause some issues with my "modification." heh At any rate, the window now sits a bit more firmly where it needs to sit. Depending on the outcome of the other issues I'll be bringing the car in for, I may see if the dealer would look at this. But unfortunately, "rattle" repairs are not covered under the GM extended warranty so I may need to find a way to fix it myself instead....
