Not sure which is accurate. If it's the first two, it's not half bad. BUT, if it's the third image, then (removed), what a disaster! The back end does NOT fit the initial image you get of the car by looking at the front end. Looks like the opposite of GM's faux pas with the CSV line. They took the body of a SRX and slapped a Sonata front end on it.Stick with the current design. Just MHO. Or just go with the first two. EDIT: I know I'm a loser and I put Sonata instead of Santa Fe in the thread title. What can I say, it's been a rough night.

Nice to know I wasn't hallucinating then when I saw "Sonata" in the thread list and then when I clicked, it suddenly said Santa Fe...LOL But you're not a loser. Anyhow...I like the current design but I'm not really feeling this one...it looks huge in the back and tiny in the front, not well balanced at all.

Yeah, better watch that stuff, as "GVC's resident Hyundai (removed)," Mr. Panic is watching. Interesting find... Not sure what to think of the styling... I'll have to think about this. Not as attractive as the new Sonata, that's for sure. Then again, I'm really not an SUV person so my opinion shouldn't count anyway.

The front end is much better than the current one on either of the two vehicles. Overall, the third photo is not bad but I don't like the rear quarter. It just looks out of place.
if they had more power, i'd have considered the hyundai tucson v6. they are doing a nice job revamping all their vehicles. they're still a little underpowered imo.
They're doing a good job at changing that... The '06 Sonata's new 3.3 V6 has 235 HP, which finally brings it up there in roughly the same neighborhood as the camcords. The upcoming Azera's 3.8 V6 should have something in the 265-ish range.Still not the most powerful thing on the road, but if they can keep up with the others, I guess that's good. lol! With the Azera being on the Sonata's platform, which I would also assume the new Santa Fe will be as well, maybe we'll see the 3.8 crammed into one of those. Pure speculation of course. If they put either the 3.3 or 3.8 into the Tibby or Tucson, damn! They're really getting competitive these days, and finally in ways other than the number on the window sticker. Can't wait 'till I get the Sonata.

I STILL don't understand what the heck the market placement of the Tuscon is supposed to be.It's practically identical to the Santa Fe. What's the point???

Right now, there really isn't a whole lot of difference between the two. I just compared specs between the two...In general, the Tucson's smaller but not by much!Tucson:http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehi...s.aspSanta Fe:http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehi...s.aspThe Tucson was the first of the new generation of Hyundai vehicles, and within a couple years practically everything in their lineup will be redesigned... The Santa Fe included. My guess is this: They had the Santa Fe, but it is very near the end of its product lifecycle... From the looks of the pics, I may be right here - they wanted the next generation SF to be larger, which would translate into more expensive...That's where the Tucson comes into play... It's their small, relatively inexpensive offering. The Santa Fe will be a step up.As it stands now, you're right - there really is a heck of a lot of overlap between the two, but when the SF's replacement comes around, the two may not be so similar...

i liked the tucson over the santa fe. it had better gas mileage and of course my fave: dual exhaust. plus the price was pretty desireable. totally loaded v6 for $25K msrp!
yes, the x3 is very nice looking! i'm almost kicking myself for not considering them when i was doing my search. they had a very good sale on them at the time, would have been close to what i got the LGT for.... but i wanted the LGT pretty badly, so oh well! i still got what i wanted, right?
lol. yes you did. and then my buddy drew had to go and trade his gti golf in for an S2000! that pretty much sealed the poor vibe's fate! plus, i'd been drooling over the LGT for some time ever since I saw one driving home last summer. it was sooooo nice! dual exhaust, black, debadged, dark tint..... ooooh!
yeah we all drool over nice cars. Some of us though just drive what we have. I kinda still miss my old Sunfire GT... that car was fun. I had plans for that to but never panned out. Those pics though, this new Santa Fe looks like a cross between a Mazda 6 tail end and a Subaru Forester front end. IMO

I haven't seen the new Santa Fe on the roads here, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. Sometime next week I'm taking the Jeep in for its first service and there are LOTS of car dealerships in the area, so I'll be wandering around looking for a while.

I think the new Santa Fe may be the "mystery SUV" shown for a second or two in the new Sonata commercial/ad for their Alabama manufacturing plant that 've been seeing for the past couple of months...
