Anybody know for how long we can expect the heater and radiator hoses to last before needing replacing? My 2003 base Vibe has only about 12,900 miles on it, while my '97 Grand Prix has about 31,800. What kind of life can we expect from these hoses? In the old days I always changed them every five years, but are today's hoses better and therefore last longer?

Proactively changing out hoses would work too. I've never read a recomended interval for actual hose changes... maybe I missed something in the maintenance schedule. With Vibes nly being around for the last 3-4 years - has anyone even bust a hose (frontal accidents not included )?
My hoses out lasted my radiator. Just had to replace it today, I've got over 200,000 kms on it though the rad. cap rubber had deteriorated enough to block the expansion tank inlet too and the thermostat was changed at the same time - just in case.
