my first mod!

Post by gargoyle »

Here it is... my first mod!I "installed" one of them there stick on bubble compass thingies. That bad boy set me back $1.69! The guy at the counter wouldn't budge on the price, but it was well worth every penny cuz it works great, and I'm already saving up for the next mod!So now even though I have no clue where I'm going... at least I'll know which direction it's in!

Man I could have used one of those the other day, I knew I had to go east, and I thought I was going east, but as it turns out, I went west for 30 miles before I realized, I was going in the opposite direction.

No, but it was around noon so it didn't really matter. And for the record, last time I checked, I'm only a little retarded.

If you really want to move up in the world, check out the LED dragonfly rear-view mirror hanger at Wal-Mart for about $4...

Their stuff ROCKS!(Okay, not really. The adhesive couldn't take the heat the other day and it fell off. But before that, it was DA BOMB!)

You got one of these things to actually WORK inside the Vibe??I bought one around a year ago, and as soon as you were inside the car the thing always pointed south -- no matter what direction you were facing. Something about the standing electrical field in the car. Just ended up tossing it.Never did find one of the standard compasses that works inside my car, so now I just use my Etrex GPS Has an electronic compass with speed indicator.

My radar detector has a compass built in. I had to drive around in circles a few times to get it set. But it works about 3" off the dashMy contour had the hvac fan so far up inside the dash, it would screw up the compass. Low - I was pointing south. Medium - south east high - west.I ended up moving the damn thing to the left pillar, didn't care what was behind me on the highway - by then its too late anyway.

I could only only get mine to work one place - about midway on the right side of the radio siler dash trim. I tried everywhere else: by the A-pillar, by the rearview mirror, all over the dash, and it was hosed.
