Street Grafitti roof rails

Post by SoCalVibe »

Is it just me or are these roof capsdifferent from these roof capsThey are both supposed to be from the Psychovibe kit but i dont want them if they look like the first ones. Is this just an optical illusion?

Who's car is that on? Because we saw that Merzbow's came out the same way, but he didn't bolt down the rear ones at the meet. He just bolted down the front ones. That's why they're so high as of right now.Inder

As for sanding them down, I don't know if there is enough material there to sand them down that far. You'll have to keep us posted on that one.

It looks great! I just prefer the roof caps from the original picture here: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13532and heres your pics here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/514882/1I think they might have found a amnufacturer after the prototype that may have already had all the molds and tooling done. On the second ones it seems like they go up almost vertical, especially in the back. It seems kinda rounded back there too. It also looks like they are like 1/4" higher than that back center roof cap as well. On the first picture the caps blend into the body angles better and in the that back corner on the first pic it seems to "lean" in towards the roof better then the second set. If they don't actually make them like the first pic, I may just have to do some custom fab.

Yeah, if you want them to look like the ones originally made by psychovibe, you're gonna have to make them yourself. Unfortunately, the manufactured parts didn't come out looking like the originals.

But yeah, looking at those have made me second guess whether I want to do that or not. May just paint the metal on exiting rails and live with it.Dave

DaveYeah, I think on Chris' Vibe they are the gaskets from the roof rack, but with these caps they won't fit. I tried everything under the sun to the point of cutting them WAY down to try to use them, but to no avail. The caps won't fit if you try to use the gasket.
