technology baby!!! HID kids have come down considerably. actually last year, a 8.5k kit would cost about 8 hundred. your father may have over paid for his HID kit. specially if he did not have them installed.

yea i wouldnt ever pay 3 G's for HID's, after considering what they do VS. what you could get for 3000$, the answers are obvious, even back a few years ago installing them was the fun part, too O yea before i forget...DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ADJUST THE AIM OF THE HEADLIGHTS?????

There's a set screw on the lower part of the rear of each assembly. They're a b*tch to get to, but you turn them to adjust the high/low aim of the bulb. The left/right cannot be adjusted.

ehhhhh.... that is not what i bought, although my kit contained similar parts and all (because every HID conversion kit contains pretty much the same stuff), mine didnt look that........cheap? Mine just had an over all better appearance, like it came in a flat black box with shiny black writings and designs, and the components inside had like a weird pseudo Silk encasing them

HID is HID. Doesn't matter what it looks like... If it has ballasts you're pretty much good to go.And yes, HIDs have come down in price CONSIDERABLY. Now, the thing is, depending on your state inspections (like in Jersey), you need the HID kit that offers hi/low conversion like what ragingfishe has.The only thing with some HID conversion kits (like the one I got from ragingfish), is that the pattern is all screwed up. Like my low-beams hit the high-beam part of the reflector, and completely blind truckers! I keep saying i'll fix it, but it's a low-priority..

yea thats the only thing that bothers me is that i dont really have high beams, but thats why im gonna aim my lights a bit higher BUT not so high that ill blind others, but high enough to compensate my lack of high beams and my car being lowered ....something to consider for potention buyers hi/lo beam kits usually cost a LOT more
