Ok let me do the math here...One troy ounce of platinum is worth about $950.A Troy ounce is equal to 31 grams.453 grams in a Pound.Divide 31 into 453 and you get 14.6 troy ounces in a pound.Multiply that by $950 and you get $13,870 per pound.So unless that shifter knob weights 5.5 pounds, you might as well buy your own platinum and find a friend with a metal lathe and make your own shifter. You will save about 50 grand.

And not all that useful - it looks very slippery. A good way to detonate your engine is to miss a gear when speed shifting...Fun auction though - it's great to see a team with some humor.
