Going to give it a little tug

Post by dan326 »

I've had the misfortune of putting a slight crease in my hatch and needless to say, I am distraught. It is above the hatch glass and on the top of the roof. This is a most awkward place to put a dent, and an even worse place to try to take it out.I have found a paintless dent removal guy who will take it out cheap. He told me that he is going to perform a glue pull. This is putting a hot, highly adhesive glue on the paint, attaching some metal thing that is turned and pull out the crease. He said that he will actually overpull the crease so that he can then smooth it out flat. It all sounds okay, but I've got too concerns.1) Will this procedure hurt the paint or clear coat? The thought of willingly putting glue on my car makes me sick.2) Will the roof be as flat and beautiful as it was before the ding? Trust me when I say that this crease is quite difficult to see, so I don't think I really went too deep.If any of you have had any experience with a paintless dent removal, I would like to hear what you have to say. Thanks much.

I have never heard of them using hot glue. But I have seen them do amazing things with dents.if you didn't know it had a dent before you would never know.I have tried finding them after they were done without success.Let them do there magic with your car, and don't think twice about.

I had a paintless dent removal shop repair hail damage to the rear deck lid of my Intrigue.I don't know the process they used, but I was very pleased with the result.I still have a few minor dents on the roof. They said they needed to remove the interior headliner to fix them, and I refused to allow that, on the grounds that living with the small dents was bette than risking having them mess up the interior.

By the way you are describing it it sounds like they will be using one of the things they sell on the infomercials. The glue is put onto the car then a suction cup is applied to the dent then the suction cup is slowly unscrewed pulling it back and pulling out the dent with it.https://www.asseenontvnetwork....21185/It is probably pretty safe, if the paintless dent removal guy seems to think that it is a pretty standard procedure then it probably is. I wouldn't worry too much. But if you are worried make sure you ask them what happens if they screw up.

Those do work pretty well unless the dent is on a bend or crease in which case you'll be stuck with a small dent or a huge repair bill.
