Any news on the 2006's

Post by sajalocke »

Cool site guys. Saja from Devon AB here, just signed up and glad I did.Funny thing happened at the Toyota dealership recently. My wife and I were about to test drive a Corolla when shespots a Matrix. It was like the crowd went silent, beams of lights, the whole nineyards when she spots the red Matrix in the showroom.I,m thinkingah god - it's a wagon. We took out a Vibe at a GM dealership not far away and after thetest drive she says "I like the Vibe better than the Matrix, it rides smoother and I really thought it was faster" - LOL!Both the salesman and I snicker at that one. She's not up on vehicles at all and needles to say she was convincedthat these were two completely different sets of wheels. She likes theSunburst, I kinda like the Abyss but maybe with some black pearlenhancements (Pop's a retired bodyman) this little wagon just might do the trick afterall.I've warmed up to the Vibe quite a bit after doin' a few testdrives but would still like to get a Mazda three.Just wanted to say this car seems a littlesteep for what you are getting, but from the reviews from owners on this site, I may just pick one up for my wife based on the fuel milage and the driveability factor. The only problem is that these units are getting so popular that we may have to wait till the 2006s come out. Any word on changes coming with the 2006'sAlso, I'm leaning towards the AWD since it comes with AT and ABS - Anyone out there with a viewpoint on the AWD?Thanks in advance and once again Cool Site - Looks like me and the Mrs. will be buying one in the not to distant future thanks to what I've been reading here. If you want AWD, go for it. I've found the car handles fine in New Jersey snows with a good set of snow tires. Just MHO.As to 06: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16164

I'm thinking AWD & ABS since we sometimes get what's called "Black Ice".-30, blowing snow forms an almost invisible sheet of ice on the highway in spots.Spooky as hell sometimes. Saja

Black ice is as common in Jersey as black bears (very common, in other words)I used Green Diamond Tires (http://www.greendiamondna.com) on my base and never even shuddered on the roads.Couldn't have been happier!

I had thought about the AWD but after driving the GT, the AWD never entered my mind again.Besides if it gets real deep outside 10+ inches, I just drive my Blazer.

We get black ice in Ontario as well. I have a base vibe with snow tires on in the winter. Seems to do okay by me.
