rear sway bar blues...

Post by kharman »

ok, so i ordered a rear sway bar from neverenuff on march 8th...just received it today after several e-mails and phone calls...and it looks like the thing is used...it's dark gray, scratched, has rust on it, and doesn't have the word "Progress" on it (is it supposed to does anyone know?)...neverenuff told me it was shipped to someone else, then fedex had to pick it up from him and deliver it to me....it looks like the guy who got it first put it on his car and sent me his old one....i've bought tons of stuff from neverenuff and never had a single problem...has anyone had difficulty like this before?....

Dishonest people suck...I'd say you're probably right about what happened, and the dude who got it first was probably hoping you were some poor, uneducated ricer who wouldn't know the difference. Surprise, huh? Hope you can get what you paid for...or at the very least, your money back. It definitely shouldn't have rust on it, that's for sure.

When I got it it was dark gray and did not have or come with the Progress sticker. I wondered myself of it's origins but asumed it was what it was supposed to be since I had bought it from someone (may have even been neverenuff on ebay) who claimed to be an authorized dealer. It was not scratched or rusted at all though. That sounds to be used to me and I would surely complain, especially if you bought it directly from neverenuff. I would wait and see what he says, but ordering it on Mar 8th and getting it Jun 1 is just friggin' ridiculous! I got mine in like a week or 2. I had heard that they were out of stock at some point and that is what the ebay dealer said as well. He said they were hard to find but he had some in stock. Either way, I would definitely be trying to contact him and either get your $$$ back or get a new bar in a very reasonable time!

Oh my... I wouldn't be a happy camper about right now! Sorry to hear about your luck - something unethical was definitely going on. I'm not sure why they would have Fed Ex pick up what you ordered at some dude's house, then ship it to you! One would think they should inspect the equipment before shipping, and that it is shipped by the company, not some other person... Hope they get you straightened out!

Having rust on it right out of the box, I think I would look into a return or an exchange if it were me. It shouldn't come to you rusted...even if the powdercoat isn't the best quality. That's like a brand-new Vibe with 3 miles on it coming with free complimentary hood chips.

its supposed to be dark grey. with no stickers on it. it you look at the stock bar progress is bigger and the bends are sharper. if i got one that was sent to somebody else first id at least want a little money back.it might not seem that big a deal but that wasnt right sending you it like that.

Mine came with a sticker in the box, and I had to apply it to the bar because I remember trying to get it centered and straight. Here's a pic of the blue progress bar on mine: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1153

It's a sway bar, under the car where no one will ever see it. A couple of drives down a salty beach and it'll be all rusty anyways. Here we substitute 4 months of salty ice covered roads for the beach. Not a fair trade in my opinion.
