Test drove a Tiburon !!

Post by iinan »

I took out a 2005 Tiburon SE for a spin today. I was very impressed with the 6 speed / V6. At a price of $21,444.00 it seems like a good deal, with sunroof and some added goodies. Does anyone have any previous experience or knowledge of these cars. If we get it, it would replace the wifes 2003 kia spectra gsx. (quite an upgrade for sure ) .

The Tiburon is a sweet car... I certainly dig 'em, have considered them in the past, but insurance was going to be far too expensive for me. There seems to be quite a "tuner" market for those cars if you're into that kind of thing... Plenty of aftermarket stuff and even some support from Hyundai corporate themselves! The SE is the one with the torque gauge on the dash, right? That's cool. I looked at one not too long ago, about the same price. Impressive.Although I have no experience with these, still I think it probably would be a good car... Nice warranty, and a heck of a lot of features and performance for the money. Resale is on the sad side though. If it weren't for the insurance, I may have put more though into replacing the Vibe with the Tibby... But the '06 Sonata won in the end, that will be the next car.

NovaResource (aka NovaResource2) traded his Vibe for a tibby and was impressed with it. To me anyway, his experience with cars gives his recommendation of the tibby a lot of crediility.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=10658

I'm 27, single, no recent claims... But a '05 GT V6 was going to be $141 a month, quoted through Progressive. Didn't get the quote through State Farm, who I have insurance through currently, to see how much higher they were going to be. Your mileage may vary!

Oh, I'd say you have nothing to worry about in the insurance department then. Yellow huh? Wow! I bet that looks slick! That car is quite a looker!

As others have stated, the tibby has a solid aftermarket if modding is your thing. The V6 powerplant isn't the most powerfull in the sea of cars out there, but it scoots pretty well even in stock form. I personally _love_ the new body style. I see a black one pretty much every day on my way home from work, and that is one beautiful car. The blonde woman who drives it is hot too!
