Help needed to find Brake/Parking Light wire for DIY Power Door lock/keyless install

I just installed Power Door lock actuators and Keyless entry on my base 2003 Vibe. I used an aftermarket kit designed for Rod style locks (quite the challenge), and all that remains for me to do is to wire up the system to the wire that corresponds to the Parking light (so that the parking lights flash when the remote entry is used). The system currently works fine, but the brake lights don't flash when I use the remote.The problem is: I can't find the right wire.Can anyone help me find the wire (identify the colour and location)?I believe that using a multimeter, the voltage should drop from +12V to ground when depressing the brake pedal.Help please!Mko.

first off, let me start by asking why you want the brake lights to flash? If your on the correct parking light wire, (green wire in drivers kick panel, requiring positive pulse to activate parking lights) your front and rear parking lights should flash simultaneously when you activate the keyless entry module. If your still wanting to activate the brake lights... the wire is green with a white stripe at the switch on the brake pedal itself WARNING: to activate your brake lights, the green/white wire requires a positive pulse +12 volts to activate. in other words when you test with a test light, the wire will be dead until you push the brake at which time your test light will light up.If you still need help finding the correct parking light wire i'll take a picture of it on my car tomorrow

Thank you very much for the response - I was unable to find the green parking light wire in question, and that was why I was looking for the brake light wire to use as an alternative.If you could post a picture of which green wire in the kick panel I need to use, it would be much appreciated. What should this wire "meter" when using my multimeter? Mko.

nevermind the 2 black loomed wires under it, thats my amp wiring its in a group down by the foot rest, there's a lot of green wires down there make sure there's no stripe on it. with a multimeter, put your black lead on ground and touch the wire with red, with the parking lights off, your meter will read low, when you turn the lights on, your meter will go high (+12volts or higher) BTW its the one that white wire is tying into

Wimperdink: could you help me with my problem. I have a viper security sytem installed by a guy i use to knowa few years ago...all of a sudden something is all messed up. whenever my headlights are on my break lights are on. i can tell because my third break light is always on when the headlights are on. now when i press the break pedal the lights get a little brighter, but when its dusk outside and my headlights are on you can't tell the difference in the brake lights so it looks like i'm driving around with my breaks on the whole time. Now i'm not sure if this has something to do with the wiring from my security system because as far as i know this just started happening in the past few months...anybody out there have any idea?

I don't know if such a thing is even possible or applicable to this car, but I seem to remember hearing once of a similar problem where one of the filaments in a dual filament bulb broke and shorted between the two inputs. Looking in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6871 the brake lights are dual filament types, so for a cheap possible fix, check out the brake light bulbs, or remove them one at a time to see if the problem goes away.

Its been awhile since my remote starter install, but I am quite sure it requires a negative pulse. If you put a positive pulse on it you will fry the daytime running lights module.

the flashing light wire is green on the steering colum. it takes a NAGATIVE switch. if your alarm doesn't privide negative, reverse it with a relay. i went thru this 3 months ago.
