When ever I drive the freeways at night, and use the high beams.Trucks as in Semi's flash there lights at me from the oncoming lanes.I have check the lights and they are aimed good, I have even turned the left light a little right to help with this.Even on freeways where there is a median that is over 100ft wide, they still complain.Does anyone else have this trouble, or is it just me?
I've noticed a lot of folks around here over the last couple of years have had issues with their headlight being aimed improperly... That's surprisingly one issue I haven't had though. Sounds like aiming, but I dunno - if you've already looked into that, that leaves me scratching my head... What type of bulbs do you have installed, btw?

When I was learning to drive, I was taught that when you see another vehicle's headlights, your headlights should not be on high beams, so I dim them when there is oncoming traffic, median or not. Never thought about there being conditions where it's ok to have the high beams on with oncoming traffic.
I'm still running the orginal factory bulbs, that came with the car.I don't run them if there isn't a great distance between the lanes.I did make a mistake in my first post. I said 100ft, I meant to say 100 yards or more wide and if there is a right turn in front of me, I dim them before I can see there lights.Where I drive there are lots of Deer! I don't drive up on people with them on, when I'm passing.I do respect there rearview mirror also and turn them down when I get within 3/4 mile or so behind them.It just bugs me, and I don't want to be rude and blind anyone else. or be that Jack a** who never turns off his brights. It doesn't seem to effect cars or pick-up's just Semi's.
On highways here, unless there is a thick stand of trees between lanes, you DON'T use your high beams. Curves, hills, and various changes in the road mean pretty much any oncoming car will be blinding you with high beams. You should not be using them on a highway, but I understand your concern about deer...The lights on this car do not aim left/right. They only aim up/down. If you messed with the adjusting screws, you moved the light vertically, but not horizontally. One of the STUPIDEST things I've ever seen in a car...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I know that driving a freeway with headlights on high must be a common thing some people practice. It is extremely annoying to those coming the other way and I am sure truck drivers figure the only way to get this idiot to dim his light is to flash their headlighs. I flash my high beams when the other person doesn't dim their light and only hope they dislike my high beams as much as I dislike theirs and maybe they will get a clue. It is suprising how bright those light are coming the other direction even though it is on a freeway.

The inside of my headlight is coming apart. The part that holds the bulb came loose from the outer shell if that makes any sense. It aims down on the road and leaves it dark no more than 100 ft from the car. ugh I have no idea how to adjust these or to fix the loose lens. Anyone had that issue while we are on the subject of headlights?
