Can you remove the adjustable roof cross bars?

Post by mfpr »

Is there a way to remove the adjustable roof rack cross bars? I removed the 4 bolts which hold the cross bar in place, but did not see any obvious way to take the bar off.Mike

I did find the post regarding removal of the Lateral Roof Rack bars. But, any idea how to remove the whole rack? Can it be done by taking of the front and rear caps to access any fasteners? Or do you have to drop the headliner to access the fasteners? ThanksBobMono Shadow GT

quote:Do a search on it... someone did it, but it seems there is a problem with leaks..... would not recommend taken it offYeah, they leave physical holes in the roof, which isn't good obviously. This roof rack was not made to be taken off. The only workable removal part of the roof rack would be the lateral cross bars.I also would not recommend removal of the ENTIRE rack, due to the above reasons. I'm sure it could be done, but with high risk of leaks, etc.
