Secret Compartment!

Post by frostyGT »

Okay...I got my Vibe about 6 weeks ago. When I was ready to take off, the dealer says he can only find one of the keyless remotes. Well, we looked in the car and everywhere else, and no second remote to be found. No big deal, they pulled one out of parts and programmed it for me. Problem solved, case closed!Yesterday, I'm looking around in my Vibe and I FINALLY discover a little "secret compartment" to the left of the steering wheel!!!! Thought it was the fuse box, but when I opened it I was surprised to find a nice, sunglass sized storage compartment containing two brand new, sealed-in-plastic keyless remotes! Now I have four remotes and a perfect place to store my sunglasses!!! All in all, a good day Please someone else tell me it took them a little while to find this! I don't want to think I'm the dumbest Vibe owner Over six weeks and the darn thing was sitting right next to me!

LOL!I've had my Vibe more than 3 weeks, and only found the compartment below the shifter yesterday. Looks like the perfect size to keep maps in.

I found that the first day--it's where I keep my smokes. But I did however just find the compartment under the gear shifter. I love this car!!!!

Let's see, in the passenger area there are the compartment to the left of the wheel, the one below the shifter, the main compartment betwen the seats, and the one in the lid of that compartment. In front of that, the two drink holders and the cell phone well. Also, the glove box, the rear drink holder and the two wells at the bottom of each front door. That is all I can think of... missing any?

Don't forget the compartments around the spare tire, and also on each side in the rear wheel well.

You should call your salesperson back and tell him to learn more about his product. It's a good thing that he didn't because you got two free key fobs. He should of known that car inside and out though. Epecially the multiple compartments of the vehicle. Anyway congrats on your free stuff. I'm sure I would have been repremanded for missing that since I work at a Pontiac dealer.

Well, my salesman was a nice guy even if he was clueless. I bought it at a Buick/Mazda/Pontiac dealer who had 93 P5s and only 7 Vibes. I guess they didn't focus too much on the Vibe. I had to tell him that the Vibe was made with Toyota. Geesh! I don't really expect much from a salesman. As long as he is nice and treats me with respect, that's all I ask. I'll do my own research. Of course, I'm still embarrassed that it took me so long to discover these compartments It's alot better than discovering something bad, though!

Vibe Storage, the full story:Glove Box.Left of the steering wheel in the dash.Bottom of the center dash section.Driver and Passenger door pockets.Center console: Under bin lid, Bin, phone(or garage door opener), 2 cup holders, coin (also left of driver in dash), and an open bin at bottom.behind center console are two pull-out cup holders.Cigarette cup, if you don't smoke.Cargo area, left and right snap-open pockets.Cargo area floor, many pockets around spare tire cover.Pocket on rear of driver's seat.and...Between cargo floor and rear seats is a narrow panel that also opens up, revealing a long and short space. The long space is perfect for storing the folded-up cargo cover.Did I miss any? There is a also considerable room beneath the front seats, just don't block the rear seat air vents there. My salesman only knew half of them.KSNeptune.

My salesperson didn't know how to start the car. Seriously, the steering wheel was very tight as if someone moved it after the car was turned off. So the key was very hard to turn. I even tried it, but I didn't want to force the key to turn.

I got the same with mine. I was totaly unable to turn the key when I left the dealer. I went back to my salesman, he confimed I have the good keys and he suggest me to turn the steering to unlock it and it worked. My girlfriend had alos the same trouble few days. She called me at job cause she was unable to start the car, the key did want to turn at all. I told her to play with the steering and voila!
