hey guys, i was making a right turn (a bit too fast.. but should have made it through). and the front left wheel bearing or whatver it was broke, one of the joints .. i realized this after inspecting the car after the crash (i hit the car waiting to turn left in the next lane). the left wheel was not damaged at all by the impact and there is no chance that it was hit in the collision, yet it is facing left as to make a left turn, while the right wheel is facing right as it should to let me make the right turn. anyone know anything about a problem like this?
Sounds like your tie rod broke... but I haven't heard any problems with them or any suspension problems, minus the recall on the rear suspension when the vibe first came out... but that's it..
is the tie rod the joint connecting the wheel to the turning rod? (i hope i'm using correct terminology.. i 've put steering systems toghether but never know whats called what hehe) . btw thx for the reply
the vibe has rack and pinion steering....the rack is a sealed unit... the only thing out side of it are the tie rodsthat are connected to your hub/knuckle assembly which the tire bolts up too.the tie rods are the adjustable threaded pieces that are used to set the toe on an alignment... and you're welcome...

Not to hijack but what recall?? I have an '03 and if there is a recall, I would really like to know about it.
