Clinking sound after lowering???

Post by Ponyota »

Hi, I just had my car lowered with Eibach Sportlines.... My question is, did anyone have a clinking sounding like a chain rattling in the passenger rear side after lowering? It only happens when you hit a bump in the road as far as I can tell. Any suggestions before I take it in tomorrow to have them take a look at it?

If they didn't properly secure the spring, it could be bouncing around when you hit a bump because the weight of the car is momentarily removed from the strut...Also, maybe the strut wasn't properly resecured?

I would give it a week or two and let your springs settle and with any luck your clinking sound should go away.

Thats what I'm thinking... I hope it didn't screw anything up! I have to take it back to them in about 30 minutes...

Well you were right, it was the top nut to the strut wasn't tight.... Hmmm... I took a look at it before they tightened it and it didn't do any damage to anything. They took it right in and fixed it with no questions asked. Now it's all back to normal. The 2.1 inch drop is awesome!
