I'm A Newbie, but not really...

Hey, all...I'm a newbie here, but not really. My fiancee is VibeMyDrive, and we've had our 04 Base Vibe since Dec. of 03. I love it, and want to mod it, but she won't let me. Anyways, I did get the K&N filter for it, and want to get the CAI, but that's still a bit pricy right now. Are there any other inexpensive mods that I can do to possibly boost the hp? Also, is there a company that makes a Perfomance Chip for the Vibe? Thanks for any input.

Thanks for any input.Unichip, but beware, if you think the CAi is expensive, you may want to rethink the chip. I think from what I recall hearing that they run about $600! That would be why I don't have one yet!

welcome to genvibe! Some people have been pleased with short ram intakes they got off ebay for less money than the name brand CAIs. (I still have the stock intake ) Seems like CAI or short ram is the preferred first engine performance mod most people go after.I think the glory of the Unichip was that it let you retune the engine performance to take advantage of other mods, like intake and exhaust. The Unichip on a stock motor didn't give any significant improvement, or at least not enough to justify the cost, but when used with a CAI and a performance exhaust it tuned the engine to those mods and had a significant improvement over the mods without the chip.most people think that the "performance chip"s you can usually find on ebay for $20 are either dangerous or a waste of money, or both.
