Viva Las Vegas! :)

Post by AKLGT »

well, tomorrow night we leave for my work conference. looking forward to it! haven't been to vegas since 01 and phil's never been. should be fun even though i have to work a bit during the day time... but once we're done or inbetween various parts, we'll be hitting the strip and checking out all the cool places and shows (mostly the free ones). so anyone who's been recently care to tell us what's good? and where does the blue man show play? anyone know.... i hope it's still going on cause i'd like to see it.

I don't know if Blue Man Group is still there, but as far as what's good. ANYTHING!! It never ceases to amaze me, the whole experience is amazing. You and Phil should take a romantic gondola ride in the Venician.

The venician is awesome. especially the indoor sky and clouds. you'll swear that they are moving. Also check out the car museum. i can't remember the name of it but several cars were priced at above $1,000,000. and they are all for sale. In the old part of vegas they have a street that is covered with a big tv monitor, 2 blocks long, it is neat also. sorry i can't remember any of the names.

thanks guys! we're only there for 2 nights, so unfortunately we can't do a whole lot. but we get in tues morning about 9am and my first event isn't til 4:30 pm for about 2 hrs. then we were thinking of going to the Tournament of Kings for the 8 pm showing that night.... but Weds maybe we can do the Blue man show. so many things to do and not much time!!! agh! Our flight leaves on Thursday at 8pm, and the closing session for my conference ends at 3pm (Bill O'Reilly is speaking). I'm not a huge fan, so maybe I'll skip out on him and we'll go see some of the other sights. I definitely want to hit some shopping (FCUK store at the Aladdin to add to my t-shirt collection) and go to the various exhibits in our hotel (the Mirage). and i have to get a CSI tshirt since i'm a big fan! lolgood thing i just got my tax refund on Friday! and also a good thing neither of us gamble!

Free show (but expensive beer): Check out Bellagio's house band: Paragon. They play in the Fontana Club, overlooking the Bellagio's fountains, almost every night. You'll have to check for the times. They are an EXCELLENT band doing a combo of classic rock, newer tunes. The band includes regular rock-band quintet plus 3 violins and a cello. Don't miss it!

Yeah, you can't help but take a ton of pictures while you are there, it's a whole city of eye candy. What was the most impressive thing you saw?

How many "escort" ads did you get from the people handing them out, every 10 feet? I just started taking them for fun. I had a huge stack every night.

there were people every 3-10 ft handing them out. we made sure our hands were full so they didn't really bother us too much. phil managed to get a great picture of the billboard truck for the "gentlemen's club". i'm working on resizing the pics to upload, but at the "tournament of kings" i had to laugh when the muscle stable boys come out w/ no shirt, gaping muscles and these (removed) tight pants! phil and i just howled! ya, i'm sure that's what they wore (or didn't wear) in medeival times! we kept saying, hey! we have to send that pic to CARRIE! lol
