Transmission Fluid

Post by chrisblues »

I wanted to get some feedback regarding an issue with my 2004 Vibe.I took it in to one of the quick service oil change places (I know, I'm bad). They told me my transmission fluid looks dark and like it has 30,000 miles on it. At the time, I had around 19,500 miles on the car. I figured they were trying to rip me off, so I denied the flush they offered.About a week after this, I had my tires rotated by my trusted, local mechanic. I had him look at the transmission fluid as well. He said it did look dark (almost as much as the oil), and I should take it to the dealer, since I'm still under warranty. So I dropped it off at the dealer a few days later, and left a note to check the trans. fluid. They asked me if I noticed any problems driving like slipping, which I said no. They called me later and said the trans. fluid is a synthetic fluid and the dark color was normal.I just want to know if you guys think this is correct. Thanks.
