If I factory order too late then wont get '05?

I hope to place a factory order in the next couple of weeks. The dealerships say that it will be 10 to 12 weeks till delivery. At what point in the year would it not be possible to factory order the '05 but instead have to wait for the '06?

Your dealer should be able to give you the order cut-off date. GM provides this to dealers well in advance.

I'd imagine it's probably a little bit away...I seem to remember last year when a coworker was looking at Vibes, she was told that the cutoff was in May. I'm sure that they don't actually stop manufacturing them for another couple of months. I don't remember when the '05s actually first showed up on the lots, but you should be fine if you order now, and if not, they'll tell you.

My fleet manager just looked it up, the order must be in GM's hands on May 4th to get an '05. Anything after that date will be held until the '06 order Ramp-up in June.

yeah when I ordered my Vibe in the summer of 03, it was already an 04 model I was getting. Which was kinda cool cause I took delivery of it at the end of December. It was my christmas present to myself. It took that long to get because I told them no rush on the order. I was content to wait that long because I had to sell my old car and save up some money anyway. Worked out perfectly.

Another family member ordered an 05 in mid-January and it was here 3 March - basically about 6 weeks!

FYI: The 2005's were at my local dealership in central Indiana on May 21st, 2004.

yeah they arrived an the dealership I worked at about that time as well. I took one of the MAFs from one when mine fried before the June meet in MI.

Order it this month or it may be too late! when I was ordering my 03 in April, I placed the order end of March/beginning of April. they called me 2 weeks later and said GM is no longer taking any more orders for 03 year and that it wouldn't be until July before I'd get to even order my car! they had to wait to get all the dealer info inorder to build or price/order what i wanted for the 04. since I had sold my truck and the new buyer was taking it April 19, I had to buy whatever they had on the lot. so if you plan to order one, do it right away or it'll be too late and you'll be getting the 06... in which case they have to hold your order until they get all the parts and info on the 06's.

I showed this post as a 'scare tactic' to my wife as she was slower to get on board re a factory order purchase of a Vibe. We did the deal last day March 17th. Hopefully the dealer will do the actual order today. We are in Toronto Canada. What would your best guess be re arrival time?
