The only similarity I see is the 60/40 fold flat rear seat, and fold flat passenger front seat. The Vibe/Matrix is not a pioneer in this idea. The rest of it, however, looks nothing like the Vibe and is more based on the Malibu/Equinox platform.

I saw one at the Detroit auto show, but didn't get a good luck inside. I thought it was going to be larger than it actually was. The all body color HHR done be West Coast Customs actually looked pretty good compared to the stock one.

Judging from the vents I think Toyota lent a hand in designing this vehicle. The HHR looks good.

Those vents are popping up all over. Check out the Ford F-150 and the new Ford Mustang, and the Mazda6.
