Hmm...that's interesting. My sister's car is silver and she's already wrecked it 3 times. The article says that silver cars may be involved in less accidents because they are more reflective and visible on the road. My g/f freaks on the road in a heavy rainstorm or fog because those "highly visible" silver cars magically disappear until a split second before you rearend them on the highway.

My wife bought a silver Vibe because silver is a harder colour for cops to pick up when looking for speeding vehicles. Red on the other hand really sticks out...

no, i bought the silver one because that's all they had. i wanted a salsa monotone and if fusion was available for 03, i'd have wanted that. but since i drive usually 10-20 mph OVER the speed limit, i'm SO GLAD i got the silver!next car i'd like to be all black, but then i'd be getting speeding tickets for sure since the cops like to target them as well as red, yellow, and white vehicles. (atleast that's how it is up here). so silver or gray it will be.... boring. oh well, better than no license! lol
articles like this are hillarious. if you study, even, basic statistics you'll learn something about 'confounding' data....i guess the writer was having a slow week....
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

My parents always thought a color was safer than silver, because they blend right in if it's rainy, foggy, or dusk. We have a lot of cloudy days and silver cars are definitely less visible than colors on those days. In general, I've always prefered a car in a color (not beige, white, silver, or black) but I really liked the vibe in silver. I bought it used, so I didn't get to choose, but I might have picked Satellite anyhow. I really like the Salsa monotone, too. I thought Neptune was my top choice until I saw it in person...I prefer a brighter blue. I am very curious about the Envy color.I'm pretty sure color has no impact on radar or laser readings, so don't get one just for that. Statistically, certain car colors tend to get more speeding tickets, but that seems to be linked to personality. My grandma would never buy a bright red car and she would never speed, either. Age demographics might have something to do with the color/accident ratings. I see a lot more young drivers with some colors and more experienced drivers with other colors.--Luna, who's driven a medium red car, emerald green car, and now silver, but will have that blue car she's always wanted one of these days!

Maybe that's why many school buses are yellow (in the USA).That neonish yellow that is appearing on new school signs and fire trucks is statistically the most visible color, IIRC. Schoolbus ellow and fireengine red are right behind it. But the sirens and flashing lights make just about any fire truck visible
as a painter/ bodyman silver is my least favorite, (of course that is what i have) i shows every sand scratch, very easy to get streaks, and trying to metallics to lay down uniformly, black is by far the coolest to spray, you can watch yourself in the reflection, but of course after that you can see every scratch, dirt, water spots, etc,as far as safiest color, always said cops pull over more red , and yellow, who knows go with what you like, and take you chances,
That is a cool paintjob! Did you do it yourself?I might do some flames later when I have more $$. Do you have any idea how they affect resale value? I can see some shoppers seeing it as a negative instead of positive. (Maybe I'd just need to find the right buyer!) i wish I didn't have to worry about resale value, but I do.
hard to say i haven't tried to sell yet, but i am guessing depending on the market it might be a little more difficult to resale, or someone could think its the coolest thing since sliced bread, and pay big bucks,it's a gamble, but for the mean time its cool to watch the heads turn,i have had mixed reviews, lil kids love it, old people just say "why"thats why i refuse to get old..................thirty isn't old is it?
