Just wondering if there were any plans in the works to celebrate GenVibe's 3rd b-day. It's only a month away now so it's getting close to cake and ice cream time!Small GenVibe history note: the forums were opened to the public on April 1, 2002, the date that we seem to recognize as GenVibe's official birthday.I know that Joatmon tried pretty hard last year to get a record number of people to log onto the GenVibe forums at a set time to honor GenVibe's opening day. It was a bit disappointing as I think only about 32 or so members participated (and that figure might be generous). Maybe we could give it another try? Any other ideas for the celebration?

lol, only you drunken .I'd ask my g/f to volunteer for a few pics in my Vibe's moonroof but she'd probably punch me in the face and not talk to me for a month. or ever again . Sorry man, I'd help if I could .Maybe you could Photoshop something with different Playboy models from Google images? lol I think Terri Harrison popping out of the Vibe's moonroof would be really hot. Maybe Hef would get word of it and do a feature on his own with the Vibe in it? rofl

Well I can't say a naked girl popping out of a moonroof would necessarily thrill me (or many of the other female members of this site). But I do think we should have a commemorative chat or some other kind of birthday celebration, most definitely.
How about we start a new thread that day and everybody who is a current active member can go on and post a pic of themselves with their Vibe! For those that can't post pics can just post on their with their name and something about their Vibe. That would give us an idea of everyone who was anactive member during that time. Seems cool to me. Any other ideas?

To post pics here, can't you just open a free account with Photobucket or something like that and link to them? Isn't that how most people here have been posting pics? If that works, I need to open a photobucket account.

Easy there! Don't overload drunken with too much work! I want to see Terri Harrison popping out of my Vibe's moonroof. I asked first! You guys will have to wait your turn for your fantasy Vibe photos . LOL

ahh, so that's how we've been doing that. Thanks joat.OK, this thread has gone all over the place, mostly thanks to me .Back to the birthday party planning.

While the gvc girls might be pleased, the guys won't like that too much
Umm, no thanks! Girls are allowed and even preferred to go both ways, however, guys are not! Girls can enjoy other girls, guys WILL NOT enjoy other guys (except maybe drunken if he's drunk enough )!

Thanks for the post, Stang! Didn't realize we were coming up on this date so quickly already into the year. Coincidently () there may be some changes (updates/additions) to the GVC website around this date so keep an eye out when it nears. As we're significantly larger in size compared to last year, maybe we can break the mid-30's number of logged-in, active users this year.
Ah, a freshened look and some new stuff for the site! Sounds like this could be interesting! Some birthday surprises for the site .And yes, I've been seeing an activity count in the mid-20's in the middle of many weekdays. Getting 10 more to join in for a special occasion shouldn't be too difficult (I hope). Not only have we grown in membership a lot over the past year, it seems that we have more members active here on a regular basis.Maybe we could try again to log on to the chat room at a given time? This year's b-day celebration for the site falls on a Friday, and many people are goofing off for a good part of the day at work on Fridays anyway so they could hopefully take 2 minutes of their goof-off time and just log on and say "hi" and "happy birthday GenVibe" then go back to Windows solitare or whatever .We could try a fun little game to see if we can get so many people to log on that it overloads the chat server. If that is possible. Anyone know if the chat room has a limit on how many people can be logged in it at one time?

I am on here all day and I check randomly to see who's on on the active users page and there will be a pretty lengthy list, but no one will post anything for quite a while. The there may be a spurt of posts and then it will be dead again for quite a while longer. I guess it's kind of hard to find something to talk about that a majority of the people can relate to or have $0.02 for.

Brainstorming. Random thoughts. New members page. Updated in real time like other pages. Pops to top of active threads list when a new member registers. Chance to immediately welcome them possibly attracting those who might otherwise hit and run never to be seen again. Perhaps divided by location so others in that area will see them and contact them. Just ideas. Any thoughts? Is this even possible?

I think that it is because many people will be following a certain thread and just pop in to see any new reponses. Remember that the active member counter counts all people active for the past 30 minutes. So if you're only here for 30 seconds to a minute, it shows you as active for a 1/2 hour. A better gauge for current member activity would be a live (real-time) counter as damron suggested. I don't know if the forum software would support such a counter. You'd almost have to have it count only people who are logged in, and have it automatically log off anyone who has left the site, closed their browser, been inactive after so many minutes, etc. Then you'd have a more accurate picture of who's really active at any given moment.

I'll have to agree with the naked chick out of the moonroof, or on a trampoline. I could photochop something up but I think it would be removed from the site as soon as it was put up.

I'm just gonna watch this year it's somebody else's turn
But you would participate in a b-day chat if we had one though?

So this thread died. ok, then how about this:There will be a genvibe 3rd birthday thread that gets started on 4/1/2005. Every member who has any interest in genvibe should post to that thread on that day as a way of letting the people who run the site know that their efforts are appreciated, maybe say how genvibe has helped you, or at least to say "I was here today". All lurkers should sign up to be a real member and then post to say Hi. People should try to be on line when they can on 4/1. Instead of shooting for a specific time to try to get people to be on line, let's try the shotgun approach and maybe we can break the record by chance. Check out the chat room that day, whenever you can.If anyone wants to try to schedule a specific time for something, then speak up.

Now wait--this just isn't fair--what about all of us Vibe Chicks who don't think Terri Harrison is really all that hot?How about Drunken, Raging, Mr. PP, and any other guys who will fit? I'll supply the moonroof! Oh wait--if they're all going to be naked I'm going to have to buy some plastic for my seats. But I can do that!

Well, let's see. This was a tough one. Drunken drinking a can of beer topless while standing in the moonroof of the Vibe getting ready to belch the alphabet or the fine example of humanity in my previous post. LOL.

It is this Friday. April 1, 2005. No this is not an April Fool's joke or anything. (I wonder if that is why participation is generally low? People think it is a prank?) No. It's real.A little over 2 years ago I was messing around with the url addresses that genvibe puts in the url box on the browser when I'm surfing the site. Each thread is given a unique number that corresponds to the sequential order in which the thread was created. That number is always shown in the url box at the end of the string where it shows "id=######", where the # sign I used represents the number of the thread. I realized that these numbers represented what order that the threads were posted in. For example, this thread shows id=15209 so it must be the 15,209th thread ever created on the GenVibe site. I was curious what the first posts ever on the site were, so by using this method I was able to go back as far as thread #3 (#1 and #2 must have been deleted at some point prior to my discovering this because they do not seem to exist). In post #3, Michael Levine (owner of the site) announced that the forums were now open for public use (that was on April 1, 2002), so even though the site was techincally in use for a little while before that, the forums weren't open to the public until that date. So we have come to recognize GenVibe's birthday on the date of the forum grand opening. I suspect that threads #1 and #2 were probably used for testing to see if the forums were operating correctly and were deleted by mlevine before the forums opened, so #3 is the oldest surviving thread on GenVibe.I went through this whole explanation so that hopefully people will realize that this is not a hoax or a prank with celebrating GenVibe's birthday just because it happens to coincide with April Fool's Day. Any user can enter a 3 in the id tag and find that same thread the same way I did so you can see for yourself.
