Where can you attach the tow strap?

Post by michaelgt »

Has anybody pulled the Vibe out of the snow using a recovery strap? Where do you attach the hook/strap on the Vibe? I got stuck at the end of my drive last night, and could not move the car after I moved the snow. The Vibe was resting on the snow, and I could not get any movement pushing the car. I ended up opening the hood and attaching the strap to metal under the hood. Any other suggestions for the next time?

i just saw the metal loop on the front end yesterday (right in the middle, hard to miss) ...i haven't checked under the back yet.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

I'm almost positive there's nothing in the back. Would it be alright to just loop it around the rear torsion beam instead?

I wouldn't use the rear torsion beam, I have seen them bend in other cars. Then you have to replace it as well.

ThanksThere was snow all the way up to my grills, I shovel around but could not find it. As for the back, I did have the tow hook wedged into a spot on the metal support for the bumper, but I was not sure if it was strong enough to pull on it?
