Automatic Vibe Gear Shirt Lights

Post by GlenLevy »

All: Quick Question, Those of you who have an Automatic vibe, on the gear shift, where the P/R/N/D/ etc... is (on the left side of the stick), does that light up for you? When the lights are on are those letters illuminated, because right now mine are not, and I cant seem to remember if they ever lit up or not. Please let me know.Thanks-Glen

I'm pretty sure they do light up...but there is a 15 second delay between starting the car and when the headlights/interior lights come on, so they don't come on immediately. Just when the headlights are on.I was trying to figure out what shirt lights were before I clicked on the thread. Welcome to GVC!

I'm getting ready to go to the grocery store right this minute, and I will report back when I get back as to whether or not they light up, but I'm 90% sure they do. It's just not something I ever really focused on.

You betcha, they do light up... There is one small incandescent bulb at the very bottom of the assembly.Should be on every time the headlights or parking lights are switched on, and should dim with the rest of the dash lights w/ the dimmer control.

Yeah, what he said... I tested it all out. They aren't terribly bright, but they should be visible at least.

Yeah. Mine works. It's very easy to take the P/R/N/D/2/1 thing off. I did a do it yourself instruction on how to take that piece out and put back in. Here's the link: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13822Inder

Good call... If that's the only light not working, I'd check there, as the bulb probably is hosed... I haven't tried to take it out, so not sure if the bulb itself is removable or if it needs the whole bulb/socket replaced...

Hi TRD4reelI followed your thread for changing the bulb. How do you remove the bulb itself. My fingers are too big to fit in the space. Does it twist in like a bayonet fitting or screw in?
