I finally figured I did have 2 hoses switched around, after putting them in the correct places and taking the battery off for a few min and back on the car starts fine now and no CEL...a big sigh of relief! and many thanks to PhillyVibeGT***************************************Sorry for the jumbled post but I dont want to burn my car up and I need to drive it tomorrow. Please read on and leave any suggestions.I just installed an Injen CAI on my 2004 Base model Vibe. After installation and starting the car first thing the check engine light was on and the engine sputtered a ton and sounded like it was sucking in air unevenly like start stop start stop and then the RPM's would die down real low like it was going to stall out. I turned off the car and loosened the intake pipe from the 2.75" hose from the throttle body and pulled it out a little thinking it was shoved in too far and then tightened the clamp back. The engine started and idled fine like normal but still the check engine light is on so I let the car idle for about 5 minutes max and the RPMS die down way low and the temp gauge seems to be about half way when the car has just been sitting there cold.So in summary as of right now car idles fine for 5 minutes with CEL on the temp gauge starts climbing fast and then the engine starts dying out I have no idea what I did wrong.
Check the vsv, when I put my intake in I put the hoses backwards, and my car didn't run properly till I switched them to were they were supposed to be. The vsv is the thingie(tech term) in the picture with the clamp from the air box. Also ask Mase, he is good with all the CAI questions. Let us know how you made out, IM me if you need help, I will try and help you out. Good Luck!

I only had to disconnect the OBD hose but I ended up disconnecting the VSV to remove the top of the air box to find out how to get it removed from the lid
