Honda Civic Stock Radio

Considering there's so many experts here, I figured this is the best place to ask.My girlfriend left her 92 Civic's lights on while she was at the gym. The battery was dead when she came out (shock!), and she called me to give her a boost (another shock!), no pun intended. Anyways, her stock radio now doesn't work, it says "code" on the display and the anti-theft light keeps flashing. I'm guessing that the dead battery caused the radio to think it was stolen. Is there a way that I can reset the radio's anti-theft device, or is that something the dealer can do? If so, will it cost more than a new deck?Thanks a bunch!

There a number of radio code threads at honda-tech.com (which runs the same forum software as genvibe) One thread ( http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1140826 ) indicates that the code might be in the paperwork that came with the car or stuck in the glove box, but if not then a dealer can look it up for you with the VIN and stereo S/N. I don't know if there's a complicated procedure to enter the code or not, but maybe it's in the owner's manual.

It's anti-theft so the head unit freezes up when the power is disconnected (Or the wire cut).

our Vibe has that to, only when the power is restored, the radio reads info off the PCM to confirm its still in the same vehicle and if it is, it won't lock out.

At least prior to 05 (unsure about 05 models), theftlock was not present because the cars don't use the DataBus system found in most GM cars. Because of that, people can freely sell and swap in/out their radios to other vibes...

My '94 GP had the theftlock radio and I had this happen to me once. The default code was 000 and it still worked when I had to unlock the radio because the previous owner never changed the code.
