Save your money and get a HID kit. I think that would be the best thing to do.Inder

HID is like super expensive.. If you wanna try conventional bulbs... I can get some realy cheap... I don't have pictures yet.. but I will when I get them in... I don't have the specs on them either... they took to be like the silvestar's just an off brand.. there Impulse branded lights... If anyone interested.. let me know and I will give prices.. or if yall wanna wait till I get pictures that's fine also... BTW whats the price on silverstar?

Dude, the eBay EuroDezigns bulbs are great bang for the buck, and they come with a lifetime warranty. Sure, you have to pay them s&h (like $7?), but you get another pack of bulbs...they lasted LONGER than my silverstars, and seemed brighter. I have both H4's and 9006's

HI...I bought some Eurolite Fusions in October for half the cost of Silverstars and unfortunately had a burn-out just last week. Well, it didn't really burn out totaly, it was still burning but was at a reduced output. Removed the bulb and the glass definitely had signs of a blow-out inside. The thing that you have to know though is that I now have my lights on 24/7 and since October have put on a years worth of miles. I'm not sure if I'm going to try the Eurolites again but right now I have the Eurolite and an old Silverstar in. There seems to be a tad bit more light coming from the Eurolites than the Silverstars... I'll post a pic or 2 if I can get a decent video capture.I'm still wondering if anyone has tried the Hella Optilux bulbs. From one site, it said the lower wattage Hellas were warranteed for life. If they put out the same light as the Silverstars, they might be worth it especially since their cost was about 20% less.http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/HEL88880.htmDave

Those are the same ones I got. I wasn't impressed with the color as they showed to be purple, but they are bright and look good. They are definitely a lot cheaper than Silverstars, but I can't say about how long they last as I just installed them a week or 2 ago. I payed like $50 for the headlights, foglights, and reverse lights shipped.

I can sell that package for $18+s/h (s/h est. $7.50 for all three together) so almost half of what you paid... Just let me know if anyone is interested... I will start ordering lights..

I would definitely check into the laws if they're picky about those kinds of things. Here, they could care less - no annual inspections, and I doubt they care if you have only one functioning headlight. I'm still kicking around the idea of trying some of those GE Nighthawk bulbs to see how they are... US $27/pair. Not that much more than a single Silverstar. I'm just kinda concerned about buying new bulbs since I spent so much money replacing those stupid Sylvanias. As it stands now, I've got a set of the plain ol' GE bulbs in there for the headlights and fogs. But I may just decide to try the Nighthawks someday...

In Canada the Nighthawks seem to be almost exactly the same price as Silverstars. The one real question is: How long will they last?

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about.... The bit of extra light I got from the Silverstars just wasn't worth the cost in the long run.

Hi...As promised... Now understand that this is from a camcorder and the captures really don't come out well. (Daytime - off) (Daytime - on) (Nighttime - on, duh ) (Nighttime - Cast light) (Ignore the messy garage please!)You can probably guess which is which. The Eurolite Fusions seem to have a tad brighter (whiter) cast light. When looking directly at the headlights, the Silverstars seem more yellow and less focused maybe? You be the judge... DaveP.S. Alright. I talked to my Pontiac dealer here in town. And he told me how to override the daytime running lights. "While the car is totally off (no key in ignition) click the parking brake up ONCE." This will then override the daytime running lights. Thus, allowing the car to not have the lights on 24/7. So what I recommend is get some more silverstars. They will last a lot longer now that the bulbs are not burning while your driving during the day. Plus, I think they are the brightest, whitest bulb on the market (besides PIAA or HID).Kevin

That's no real secret.. but how do you do it without making the brake light come on? If you don't mind the brake light I guess that's ok. And I think it tells that information in the manual... I maybe wrong.. but sure did thought I read that in the manual once...

You just have to kill the alternator input going into the DRL module... I have no clue how to go about doing this, I never did this. There are howto's around somewhere. I actually taped over the sensor when I had my Vibe so the lights were on all the time. But also had a switch wired in to kill the auto lights and have the DRL's when I felt the need.

I actually want DRL's but the new ride doesn't have them, I'm a bit of a weirdo I guess. Blah, oh well, just turn on the lights when I need to... I'm sure these bulbs will last a while not having DRL's (and not being those blasted $ilver 's.)
