Help! Scratched cladding.

Was backing out of a driveway two nights ago and fell off the curb. Scratched up the left underside of my front bumper. The damage isn't too noticible to anyone except me. Would I be able to lightly "wet sand" the area to reduce the appearance of the scratches? I have the two tone body so I can't buff it out with rubbing compound. I'm open to ideas.
