Chevy Aveo = Toyota Echo?

I've seen a couple of Aveos lately, and they look suspiciously similar to the Toyota Echo. Even the names sound similar. Knowing the relationship Toyota and GM have (our beloved Matrix/Vibe), does anyone know if the Aveo is a re-skinned Echo?~ Z600

The Aveo is a Daewoo (or what's left of Daewoo after GM invested in the company.)

Exactly.....it's a GM/Daewoo. We get calls all the time for Daewoo parts, which we can't get....

You know, that's one thing I didn't think of! Daewoos are still around, I wonder how people get parts for 'em now that Daewoo's presence here in the states has evaporated...I wonder if Suzuki dealers get the same requests as you do for parts - they're selling a couple of rebadged Daewoo models as well...

There's a used car dealer near me that has a Daewoo sign, I asked them why, and they said that they used to be a Dewoo dealer, but now they have to provide parts support for some number of years.

Holy crap! Daewoo? Wow, I thought they just sent all the leftovers to the junkyard! I know every dealership around here dried up. So they're still using the Daewoo parts on em'? That's a scary thought.... glad I don't have to worry about it! ~ Z600
