Ice in Georgia? Naww... Yes!

Post by Jahntassa »

Alright, because i've been heckling Mike over his recent snowfall, now I get something similar. Granted, not 18 inches of snow, but about half an inch of ice. It's just at 32 degrees, so it's been sleeting / freezing rain all night. Sadly, I still have to go to work. Who would go out and buy a damned car stereo in Georgia with half an inch of ice on the road? Also, the macro on my camera is great...here's a shot of some icicles on the stairs by my patio.

That's quite a good amount of ice! I'd say I would much rather have had the 18" of snow to deal with than that ice... That's the kind of stuff where your car will be running for an hour and you still can't get the ice off the windows. Been there!Be careful out there, as it will be madness out on the roads I imagine...

Made it to work, then got to drive out to Home Depot to get some ice melt. Hehehe..The Vibe did great. Never lost control, never slid around except when I wanted to, then it was an easy recovery! It's kinda slushing now, but it's still around 30-32 degrees, and there's a little more coming, so it'll probably refreeze tonight. Let's hope!

Yeah, integra with a bad automatic tranny. The Jeep was an auto, and the 240sx has a turbo and a stickshift.More pics: Gonna see if I can whip out the actual video cam tomorrow if we have work. I know we'll get some good stuff then.

A friend of mine and I were down in Atlanta Friday night for her concert and stayed at a hotel...Saturday morning the Vibe was covered in ice. We decided to brave it and go out and we had NO problems! The Vibe was great...well maybe it was the ddriver...nah it was the vibe! lol Should have taken a pic but by the time I thought about it I had most of the ice scraped off. But it was a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch I guess. Took forever to get the car in any shape to drive.

Wow this weekend s**ked! I moved to Georgia to get away from the ice and snow. I was without power almost all weekend. Did get out in the Vibe, did great, wish I'd had my camera, but I left it at the office. We had a tons of damage from the ice, lots of trees down and wires were down everywhere. At least I did get alot of reading in though, so was not a total loss and it could of been Super Bowl weekend. Jim
