I think this has been brought up before, but it's my first winterwith the Vibe and I need to 'vent', so to speak.Where was the heating system (specifically the position that directs heat to your feet)tested? Southern California in August? It's pathetic. You get 1000% more flow froma hair dryer. To the Vibe design team: Come on guys, you really have a very good thing going but don't cut corners like this. There's no excuse. I had an Alfa Spider that would meltthe glue on your sneakers with the floor heat on - I bet the Vibe can't blow out a match.
The whole HVAC system on the Vibe is wimpy. It does not cool adequately in the summer and the heater has a hard time keeping up in northern climates come winter. With 3 or 4 people in the car it is almost impossible to keep the windows defrosted even with the A/C on. This is probably my biggest complaint about the Vibe.
For some reason, the upper, outer vents still blow even when the hvac is set to "FLOOR". Just close those 2 vents and you should get a little more air flowing to your feet.
Hey, check out my post. Something like this was happening to mine as well. I'm going to take the car to the dealership and hopefully they'll do something for me.Inder

I seem to be on the other side of the fence as the rest of you that have posted. I HATE having me feet hot and i can't put the top vents on heat without some of it going through the floor vents as well. So i bought one of those massaging chairs with heat and i find that keeps me hot enough and then i can add heat from the top vents if i need it.
I'm with you on that one - I can't stand using the floor vents. I'm much more comfortable setting it to just blow out the dash vents, and angle them toward me. That's one reason I really like how the air blows from the outboard dash vents wherever you have the mode knob set. So, I can hit defrost, and still have warm air blowing on me from the vent there on the driver's side. But I will agree, the Vibe's HVAC system needs much improvement overall.
