Yeah, so, I was going to go pick my mom up today from physical therapy and I hit a patch of snow, and I knew something was going to happen, I started noticing that my front end started going out, like it started sliding to the left, I was like, $hit, here's a Merzbow all over again. I thankfully did a 180 into the middle lane and stopped. Nothing was broken thank god. Vibe got dirty as hell. So, I had to wash it. Other than that, I was all good. Let's just say that I'm happy no one was around me when this happened. O yeah, did I mention is snowed 8" last night by my house? Well, it did and road were not clear. No matter how careful I may drive in the snow, it still happens to me. Something stupid happened. O well.Inder

lol, another me eh? Dima and I found a race course off a back round (the streets for a new subdivision without any houses yet) We were doin laps around hte streets drifting and sliding all over the place. Gettin some practice
Man that sucks--but at least you AND the Vibe are ok! Dirt can be washed off! But don't feel bad about doing stupid things--I went home over Christmas and fell out of the back of my brother-in-law's pick-up--ended up fracturing my elbow. How stupid is that--who falls out of a pick-up??? Glad you are ok! And glad the Vibe is too!
While the snow is here do like Merzbow and find somewhere to practice. Put the car in a slide and see what it takes to correct it. Everyone expects to automatically know what to do when they get in a spin but if you've never been there how would you know how to compensate. I used to go out to a disused airfield and practice for hours - it was a blast and it makes me much more comfortable driving in ****ty weather.
I did that in my Xtreme. I was cruising down the highway in the rain in Texas knowing well my tires were bald as hell! I noticed the truck start to hydroplane so I slowed down. It did it again so i thought, well, maybe if I swtich lanes it will be better. Shortly thereafter the tires completely lost traction and I started to spin. Fortunately I ended up doing a 360 into the ditch (just grass and dirt on the slow side of the road). I say fortunately because in the center median was concrete walls because they were doing construction! Truck died, got muddy and grassy, but started right up and kept going.

that doesn't sound like a lot of fun but at least you and the car survived unharmed. I slushed a woman today as I refer to it with my Vibe. It snowed last night and this morning... well actually for most of the day mixed with rain/freezing rain. Well I was headed to the passport office to hand in the paperwork for my passport (obviously ) And as I was leaving the town I live on, driving on the main road, this SUV ahead of me does a half (removed) parallel park. Obviously soccor mom didn't know how to drive but felt her SUV was the shiz and didn't park anywhere near the curb. Oh top of that as I'm approaching from behind at about 60km street speed, whats she do? without a look just hops out of her semi parked SUV into my path. Its swirve or hit so without slowing down and no oncoming traffic, I swirve... Well... its been snowing. And can you guess what was pilled up all soggy, slushy and just dirty wetness? Thats right, snow. And me swirving around her puts me where? partly in my lane and the (thankfully) empty oncoming lane... driving on all that ugly wetness... My tires shot that slush a good 6-7 feet high and a good 10 feet out...I slushed her good... and I didn't look back. Covered her and her precious SUV... I kinda feel sorry now but it was her or my car dating her door and I had a selfish moment.Gotta love winter!

Yeah. I had something like that happen to me yesterday when I was going to dinner last nite. This idoit in a 1994-1997 Neon that it would be funny to cut right in front of me when I was doing about 35 mph. And it was snowing last nite as well, snow covered roads and everything. His lane was stopped cuz an old lady was turning. So, he just comes right into my lane and to avoid him, I had to go to the center left turn lane, luckily no one in the lan when I had to be there. But then he pulls up to me all smilin. I was about to get out and beat the crap out of em. I was like man, it's not even worth my time. So, right after that, I saw a Dodge Ram 1500 try to stop at a light, his wheels locked up, he ended up in the middle of the intersection and in someone's way who was making a left turn. Talk about interesting days. Just hope tomorrow goes well Inder

I wouldn't feel bad. I hate people that cant drive their own cars. This Italian girl in my first hour. She strolls in late...Heres a brief description of her. She is beautiful however she is THE biggest snob/b*tch you could imagine and her dad gives her anything she wants like a littel princess. Anyways she comes in late and hte teachersasks where she was she responds with "God I hate driving my mustang in the snow I wish my dad would have bought me something different! I had the gas all the was down and I still wouldnt move anywhere!" I just looked at her in complete amazment so how osmeone could be so stupid...EVEN NON CAR FANS KNOW NOT TO FLOOR THE GAS WHEN YOURE STUCK! Anyways, my friend Dima comes into my 3rd hour and says "dude this morning I saw some stupid b*tch in a mustang stuck at a light blocking traffic for like 5 minutes! She was just sitting there spinning her tires with snmoke and snow and stuff flying everywhere"
I'm glad it hasn't snowed much down here in GA. Last year on a particularly slushy day I tested out my GT and it's Dunlops behind work..and...it wasn't very impressive. I've learned, however, that in wet conditions I really need to be more careful! I'm waiting for some snow, though, so I can really get used to the car, much like I did in my old Probe..

Is it wrong to borrow your mothers vibe in the middle of winter almost spin out on the way to my best freinds girlfreinds house to have intercourse in the middle of the night?
All I can say is WOW...I totally understand you Carbman... same thing happened to me, except:A) My dad owns the VibeB) it was my "friend's girlfriend" not best friend which makes it slightly less bad ; )and C) Along the way to her house, I spotted an open parking lot... in the middle of the night, no lamp posts... mmmm fresh snow : ). After I was finished with my childish acts, a cop pulled me over : ( He wouldn't believe me that I was testing out the breaks!!! I can't believe it...
(removed)...testing the breaks...You should have told him that you wanted to play so you waited until night when no other cars were around to endanger. When I got pulled over for burning out the cop was making fun of me because I burned out in a VIbe and I was like "aww come on man you have to give me some credit....like you said, it's a VIBE!!" He just smiled and then let me go with a warning.
