Do you have OEM power locks?

Post by sfarias »

If so, can you please tell me if the remote also locks/unlocks the liftgate (i.e. the whole hatchback - not just the window)? If it does, does it have a special button for it on the remote? Thanks,Sam

They should all unlock...double check with the dealer if yours don't. There could be a wire in the hatch that they didn't connect. I believe the liftgate doesn't since you have a button on the dash to open that. When I installed my car alarm with my power locks the installer told me that GM had NOT connected the wire at the hatch.

the button for the tailgate on the vibes just unlocks the window and that's pretty freakin' impossible to use.

The remote UNLOCKS the doors (including the rear lift door... the whole thing, but you still have to unlatch and open them with a handle) but actually UNLATCHES the liftglass.A nice touch is that if you unlock the doors with the remote, but don't actually open a door, the car will re-lock itself after about 30 seconds. My Vibe has the power locks AND OEM security system, so I don't know if this is a feature of the power package or the security package.
