Qupted from: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pontiacvi ... essage/591 Alright, keep this on the downlow because this won't be released to the public for a while, but we just got some info at the plant on what changes are coming for the '04 Vibe. Its nothing too impressive, but adds to the overall vibe of the Vibe. Production, I believe, will start in May '03, and they should start to show up in dealer showrooms about a month or so after that.(1) New sunvisor with an extender and new fabric.(2) 17" All season tires and liquid silver alloy wheels available with the optional sunroof.(3) Revised meter cluster - white LED display.(4) Battery rundown production.(5) New color - Sunburst Orange.(6) Audio options - XM radio and a subwoofer (7th speaker). This is all the info I have about this at this time, but I'll post more if we get it. Don't ask me to elaborte on this or for more specifics or any more details because I have nothing more on any of this right now. Cannot tell you how much I wish I had the white LED's and subwoofer! Damned....Mike
quote:(1) New sunvisor with an extender and new fabric. The sunvisors would be an easy install if you wanted to put them in your '03 Vibe. I'd like to see the new fabric, however, I don't know If I would take it over what I have now.quote:(2) 17" All season tires and liquid silver alloy wheels available with the optional sunroof.Nice that you can now get 17's with the moonroof. I wonder what the new wheels look like. I liked the '03 17" wheels alot they weren't worth $1,300 ($800 for the wheels/tires and $500 for the required ABS)to me. I probably would still get the base wheels and purchased aftermarket wheels and tires.quote:(3) Revised meter cluster - white LED display. This I want to see. This could probably be retrofitted into '03 Vibes as well. If the connections are the same (I don't see them changing the wiring loom). If I like it, I'll wait 'till '04 Vibes start showing up in the junkyards and get it there.quote:(4) Battery rundown production.Nice but not a big deal to me.quote:(5) New color - Sunburst Orange.I think this will be a more popular color than Envy but I would not buy it for myself.quote:(6) Audio options - XM radio and a subwoofer (7th speaker).I'm sure these will go over big. However, I'm not into powerful stereos or XM so it doesn't matter to me.All in all, it looks like they are listening to what we had to say and making a great car even better. Thanks Pontiac and GM.
I want a 2ZZ with auto!!!!! If it's available for 2004 I'm buying it. If not the SPO body kit with the 1ZZ will work because I'll be slapping a West Covina turbo on it. If the 2ZZ auto happens I'll be slapping a West Covina turbo on it too.
> (1) New sunvisor with an extender and new fabric.- This is nice. I can't believe how cheap the visors in the Vibes are. I've seen better visors (with extenders) on cheapo Neons. At least they spend the extra 0.0002 cents to put a cover over the passenger mirror!> (2) 17" All season tires and liquid silver alloy wheels available with the optional sunroof.- Cool.. I wonder what measures they took to improve the rigidity of the chassis to allow the 17" wheels and sunroof combo... maybe able to retrofit?> (3) Revised meter cluster - white LED display.- A little less glaring, but I kinda like the red display... I don't find it hard to read with sunglasses..> (4) Battery rundown production.- A nice to have feature, not crucial, since there are enuff warning chimes, tones, etc to let you know when you leave the headlights on, but for stuff like the interior lights it's a nice touch not to have a dead battery in the morning.. doh!> (5) New color - Sunburst Orange.- Orange just happens to be my favorite colour... Bet it becomes a hot item> (6) Audio options - XM radio and a subwoofer (7th speaker).- XM radio isn't available in Canada, but the subwoofer is a must, especially with the Moon and Tunes package. I wonder if they'll offer this as a dealer installed option?Nice to see GM is paying attention to its customers! Thumbs up!
> (1) New sunvisor with an extender and new fabric.- This I would welcome especially during this time of the year when the sun is low.> (2) 17" All season tires and alloy wheels available with the sunroof.- Another item I wanted on mine but wanted the factory moonroof more. Easier to add bigger rims later than the factory roof. > (3) Revised meter cluster - white LED display.- I like the red.> (4) Battery rundown production.- This I need, Like in most GM cars it should allow you to keep the 12v outlets active while the car is off. I can't stand that my cell phone won't charge while the car is off. > (5) New color - Sunburst Orange.- Nice color, not sure it it is for me though.> (6) Audio options - XM radio and a subwoofer (7th speaker).- The XM I really don't need, though becoming popular. The subwoofer I do want. There is not much low end in the current system.Good to see GM listening to the customers. Now if they would include the accessories in the employee purchase program that would be a big improvement.

The reason I want a auto is because my wife got me hooked on the Vibe but she said if we get one it has to have a auto trany. I said the only way I will agree to this is if I have full access to mod the crap out of it. She agreed so that's why I want a auto. Pretty much to keep the wife happy. Now if I could just get GM to put the 2ZZ in front of that auto like a DAMN Matrix!
I with the would add, accessory power when you take out the key. My S-10 would keep everything going until I opened the door with the key out. I find with the manual, if you turn it off you will have to flip it back to accessory and then adjust windows and the radio.Everything else isn't a big deal IMO. I would prefer the current guages, would be replacement audio no matter what, chrome 17s would be nice, and I rarely use the visors.
Hi, I'm new to this forum... And I'm still wating for my Vibe. Do I like to read you guy's, there is a lot of info here. So, in the Vibe 2004 you have a new sunvisor with an extender and new fabric... Do you think you can put this in a Vibe 2003 ? I guest a sunvisor doesn't cost a lot...
Here's hoping that the subwoofer will retrofit on the '03. The moon and tunes radio is solid with decent sound but really lacks low end punch. I'm not one who likes pounding bass, but the soundsystem is lacking in that department. I have been looking for an aftermarket solution, but they all eat up too much space. I would like to see them do something in one of the many storage compartments in the rear. any further info on the 04 subwoofer would be appreciated.

JL built 10" who take 0.5 cu. ft. enclosure. Plus, I'm sure it will be much better then the stock one.I went for a 12" JL and it takes about 1.25 cu. ft. and it sound very great.
I have always used JL subs in past vehicles and the quality and sound is good for the price. I would suggest a 12w3 for the Vibe at least. I had just one in my Ext Cab S-10 and it was enough. With the extra space in the Vibe, it probably would be exceptable.
Yeah, I have 2 JL 10's in my GA and they thump like crazy. I'll probably be adding 2 or 3 12" into the vibe. As for the changes to the 04 Vibe, none are what I'd get from the factory anyway. I'm getting 18" wheels, so the 17" would be a waste. White LED gauges?? I like the red. I dont listen to the radio, so XM is a waste as is the sub, since I put my own system in. Thanks for the list anywho.
