Has anybody tried these ZR rated tires, they look awesome and have good treadwear and traction specs.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT They are made in Korea but there is not much info available on them as very few dealers carry them.
No takers other than the email I received? I have checked the Nexen website and some tire dealer sites but they don't really say much(unless you read Korean). I'm pretty sure Nexen's will be the tire that suffers my wrath next summer.
Avoid ZR rated tires like the plague. Unless you like replacing them every 6 months. Especially when it gets cold, softer tires freeze and give you no traction at all and will just spin right off. Just get H rated if you can. I believe H is the standard rating for the Vibe. But these are my opinions, so don't give me crap if you don't agree.

I know what you mean. I just burned up a set of ZR Falken FK 451's in 8 months but I did over 30,000 miles and they stuck like glue. I have snows for the winter. The Nexen's have a treadwear rating of 340 which is good for an ultra high performance tire. Oh yeah, the Falken's were frightening in the snow, terrifying actually!
Well, I bought the Nexen N2000s. I took a chance on it not snowing for a week or so and put them on last Thurday night. I've put about 400 miles on them including a roadtrip to Ogdensburg, NY. They seem to be excellent tires. Very quiet and smooth, more so than my Falken's or Crapinentals. They handle great although I haven't pushed them hard with the temperatures in the low 30s. For the price ($300.00) delivered I am extremely happy so far.
Time for a Threadsurrection!!! I'm thinking about getting a set of Nexen N5000. Anyone had experience with these? I have seen a lot of good reviews.http://www.tiredeals4less.com/...23e4a EDIT @ 2:50pm: Well I guess it really doesn't matter since I'm getting them installed tomorrow morning...lol... I'll give a first impression review after the 30 mile ride home.

From my later experience with the Nexen (Neardeath) tires i would avoid them like the plague. They turned out to be THE worst tires I've put on the Vibe and there have been many. I would recommend Nitto NeoGen of all the ones I've used. Fabulous traction wet/dry, long wear, look cool and are not directional so four corner rotation is possible.

I thought about the N3000's but they didn't look to have as good of all season traction the N5000 have been getting great reviews. I'm still getting them tomorrow.

Had the new NEXEN N5000 215/50/17 tires installed this morning. The difference is night and day. They are super quiet & smooth riding compared to the RunCraps. It was like before I was driving a Flinstones car with stone wheels and new I am driving a future hover craft car.(well maybe not...lol.) But the change is that dramatic. Haven't tested out the handling yet but they are great on the highway.

Glad you are liking them thusfar.. i'll be interested to see how this pans out over the next few months and beyond..
Will be interesting to see if Blue's Nexens stay quiet and round in the coming miles. I've read some good and bad (really bad) reviews about the old Nexen tire line. Hope they turn out to be a great tire for Blue! Korean brand tires, like the Kumhos I use in Summer, were all considered sub-par when they first came out in the U.S. market. They seem to push their development at a pretty rapid rate. So far, the Kumho tires have been excellent. Will be changing from the pillowy snows to Summers soon!

Thanks, I hope they work out for me too...lol...I read somewhere that apparently Kumho, Hankook and Nexen are all made at the same plant by the same parent company. Not sure if it is true or not, but it is interesting.

I wouldn't find that too surprising. What kind of run flats did you have on your Vibe?Make sure you keep us up to date on the Nexens. The Kumhos were a gamble, to see if they are as good as they say, I don't have enough miles on them yet to say how they are wearing/degrading. So far, they have been quiet, and roll very nicely. But any new tire usually does that for a while anyway, right? I'll have them back on soon maybe... it's snowing outside again. Keep us posted Blue.

I had Bridgestone Turanza EL42 Runflats tires that came with the wheels I bought. I'll post updates as a I hear/see a change in the tires and after running them in heavy rains or snow.
