Ok. I've been trying to get info on the differances between the 1ZZ engine and the 2ZZ engine that come in the Vibes. Is it just the intake and head? Are the engine blocks the same? Do they have the same bore and stroke? What part's if any are interchangable? Does anybody on this site know. Or can anybody tell me where I can go to find this information. Please let me know. Thanks

The 1zz and 2zz differ in bore and stroke, and other minor differences. The big difference between the 2 is that the 2zz has a shortened stroke for higher revs, and it is also over-bored. Overboring makes up for the displacement lost when it was de-stroked.2zz thread http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... =2751#2751

The blocks, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, bore & stroke are all different. Even the CCs of the engine aren't the same. The heads are the big thing that set them a part. The 1ZZ uses the FE head. The 2ZZ uses the GE head which switches from the normal cam profile to the larger one above 6,000 RPM.
