That's too bad. One of the many things that are wrong with the medical establishment, and society as a whole. Everybody is afraid of being sued so things like this probably happen a lot more than we realize. It is unfortunate that somebody had to die because it is probably the hospitals stance not to do unauthorized things, even something as simple as that without a doctors approval. The nurse was probably qualified to do that, but if she would have done it and he would have died ayway, the hospital might have been sued. Almost sounds like they could have a lawsuit coming anyway.
