Not sure if this will help but its sounds similar when my mothers cutlassleft side went out I checked the bulbs and one of the rear brake lights was black and for some reason it made the whole side go . when I replaced it everything lit up again. Dunno why?

Yes, I've seen cases when a broken filament in a dual brake/taillight bulb contacts to the other one, causing weird effects at both ends...

I'd be inclined to make the dealer fix it under warranty, but sometimes taking a car in to the dealer can be a real hassle, even for warranty work. You could try removing the brake/tail lights before you go in. If that fixes it, then it could be worth the cost of a new bulb to not have to lose time at the dealer. When you get it fixed be sure to let us know what the problem was

As always, check any relevant fuses.. sometimes there'll be seperate stuff for either side.. But the bulb theory sounds more like the center issue.

Sounds like a ground connection could be lost. Not sure why it is effecting the front and back though, the schematic doesnt lend itself to that type of failure. It will be interesting to hear your solution!

Just an update for you guys...I brought the car to the dealer and they found some wires behind the speedometer in the harness were pulling out of the connectors. 1 Hour job. I would have never figured that out! Thank god for the warrantee... Ed
