Manual for Nav & Adio Systems

HiI just bought a 2003 VibeGT with the Nav system. I am new to Nav systems, RDS on the radio, etc. I have figured out the key operations for both, but feel the info in the manual is terribly lacking.Does anyone know of a site with more detailed instructions, particularly for initial setups and options.The RDS data seems to be 'off' on some (but not all?) of my radio presets. I gives the name of a song that has already played rather than what is playing right now. Is that a problem with the station itself, with a setting on the Vibe?Thanks!

The only info available is that which comes from the factory...In regards to RDS, any issues with invalid data are strictly the station...The radio does nothing other than display data transmitted...

Thanks! I did a search on RDS before I posted my question......but I selected "Archived Content" figuring any info would be older. The search came up with no results. After playing with the criteria again this morning, I am beginning to believe that there is no archived content to be searched at all. So now that you have solved the searching dilema, I will try searching again for the other functions not covered in the darn manual. The readio setup page asks about RDS, alternate frequency, etc. but there is no explanation of what these settings drive so I am not sure how to set them.

The RDS system was originally developed in Europe, where a "station" might consist of a lot of low-powered transmitters spread across a county, broadcasting on different frequencies. (Think about the cellular phone system, that similarly has a lot of towers, and your phone has the ability to switch seamlessly from one to the next as you travel.)Well, the RDS system was set up so that you could tune a station, like BBC-1 for example, and the radio will switch from one local transmitter to the next as you drive around the country.Here in the US, mainly because we're such a HUGE country in comparison and don't have to worry as much about interference with stations in other couttries, a "station" is usually one high-powered transmitter that can be received over a huge area. Thus, the RDS intelligent switching function is all but useless here. A radio engineer from Delphi that I talked to said that there are SOME RDS networks of stations in the US, but not many. I haven't found one, so the alternate frequency feature of the radio is pretty worthless right now.As for your button labels changing, that is the fault of the stations, broadcasting changing data in the station identifier field that was never supposed to change and never supposed to be used for song titles. Please complain to the FCC about this and the NTSB!!! Most places in the world, this changing RDS data is banned as a safety hazard to drivers, because it causes distraction.

Everything stays out in the open...
