Wishin' there were nice Vibe Owners like you guys here in South Dakota!

Post by rebbierae »

I just got my Vibe a couple weeks ago and LOVE it! I'm on this site all the time checking things out and reading the forums. Every time I see a Vibe on the road here in Sioux Falls I try to make eye contact with the driver so I can wave. So far NO one else will look at me so we can share knowing looks about our oh-so-cool cars. So I guess when I'm on genvibe.com I'll just have to wave at my computer like I'm waving at you guys.

Howdy! (I also just joined GenVibe, but welcome.) Seems most of the Vibe drivers here in Phoenix pretty much keep to themselves. However, this past Sunday I was driving in downtown Phoenix, and ended up next to a Fusion Montone Base. There was the cutest elderly couple driving it, and we exchanged thumbs-up and waves because the Fusion is so rare. The Lady saw the GT on my door, and pointed it out to her husband, who also did a double-take. Made my day. Keep lookin'. The cool drivers will turn up.

Hey! Welcome. I'm not from South Dakota, but Montana. That's about as close as you can get. Good to see more owners out on this end of the country, at any rate!

Well, my sister lives in Maplewood, and I get up there to see her quite a bit, so next time I'm up there, I'll wave at you!

I am having the same problem rebbierae. Since I got my Vibe, there has been a huge increase in the number of Vibes around my area. I always try to make eye contact, but to no avail. A Salsa Vibe and I pulled into two parking spots beside each other at Wal-Mart, and I said "nice car!" to which he replied "heh." So figuring it was him at a stop light a week ago, I just stared straight ahead, but to my surprise as the other Vibe passed, there was a gorgeus girl hangin' out the window waving at me. I didn't notice 'til she drove past, so now I must look like a jacka**. lol.

I have done the same thing! When I am driving on the freeway and I see a Vibe I drive up next to it staring them down to see if they wave first....they never do!

Only vehicle waves that work are Wranglers and motorcycles.I've seen plenty of Vibe and Matrix owners starin at my car but when I wave or nod they don't respond. Either they don't think I aknowledge them or they are too caught up in the shock of seeing a modified Vibe. From personal experience, most people with modded Matrices HATE Vibes so if I wave to them they just stare at me like they want to kill me and burn my car. Except neil He's cool.

Well this one asian girl in a matrix I saw one day. She pulled next to me at a light in the turning lane. I heard her CAI. So I downshifted to 2nd so the rpms revved up then down. She snapped her neck over and got out of the turning lane then got behind me. Then she was showin off and drivin real fast. I was showin off my exhaust and CAI tooIt resembled your Vibe Hope, it had a silver tribal vinyl decal on the silver matrix like yours...(not as good as yours though ) Anyways I got next to her at the light and said "hey nice car!" and she glared over and gave me the stare of death and didn't say anything.

I get no love from the fellow Vibers around here either. And I have one of the most unique Vibes in the area! (and that's sad!) I have done very little to the car - tint, hood deflector, grafxwerks stuff, amber fog light overlays, but since everyone else here seems to leave theirs as-is, that makes my car look all tricked out. I figured I could strike up a conversation with a few other Vibe owner's out there, but no go. Saw a couple just last week in a parking lot with a Neptune 2-tone such as mine, and they didn't even bother to say hi, let alone discuss our cars. And the Matirx owners are off in their own little world as well, apparently not wanting to acknowledge that our cars are quite similar. Oh well!
