I started my faux GXP: Now with a couple of pictures

Post by waloupis »

I've begun turning my '04 Shadow GT into a faux 'GXP'. I lowered the car 2" with Dropzone springs, added 18" Mille Miglia EV0-5's and Nanking NS-2, 235/40/18 tires. I debadged (except for the Pontiac arrowhead on the tailgate) the exterior and added bluebat's taillight redouts. I partially dismantled and cleaned the brake calipers before painting them red, so it doesn't look like I just took a spray can to them. I still need to replace the stock rotors with drilled/slotted ones (already ordered) and tint all the windows. I'm hoping that (fingers crossed) rodzombie's roof rack filler caps will be available for sale someday to complete the exterior. I don't plan on modifying or changing the fascias unless GXP-style versions are available. I also disabled the DRL's and got the foglights (yellow bulbs) to work with the parking lights, independant of the headlights (Silverstars) I tried to add this post last night with a couple of pictures, but it didn't work. Once I figure out how to add photos, I will. I want to say thanks for the tech help that I found on this forum for the lights and the resources to find the taillight redouts and (hopefully) roof rack filler caps. I've had other cars and been part of other forums, but Genvibe is the best!

Looks sharp, man! I need to get mine cleaned up this weekend and get some pics on here as well. I would like to see what people think of what I have done so far.

Beautiful I don't think Rodzombie is gonna finish those. He kinda disappeared unfortunately. I wish he would get those up for sale cause I want a set more than anything.

Hey, what are you doing with my car? LOL J/K Looks a lot like my GT (see my cardomain link). I really liked the GXP as well and made some similar modifications to mine. Your's is looking good. I'm still debating whether or not to debadge my Vibe. Putting on those drilled and slotted discs will look nice. Good luck with it.Later,

Actually, I saw yours too and was thinking the same thing. I was going to go with the Fusion color, but when I searched the forums, yours was one of the ones I'd seen that really caught my eye. After that I also saw the GXP and that's what did it for me as far as color goes. I was considering getting a couple of the GXP badges from a Bonneville and re-badge my Vibe accordingly. Thanks for the nice words.
